Tony Dungy calls it a career at Indy
The Indianapolis Colts most successful head coach Tony Dungy, retired after 7 marvelous seasons of NFL football, and 148 victories later. He is the first black head coach to win a Super Bowl and in my opinion, one of the best coaches in the NFL. He is a true players coach and an even better human being."We just felt this was the right time," said Dungy. "Don't shed any tears for me. I got to live a dream most people don't get to live."
He didn`t leave the league without making a lasting impression however. He set league records for most consecutive playoff seasons with 10 and consecutive 12-win seasons with six. He also exits with the highest average of regular season wins of any coach in NFL history at 10.7 a year. This man is a true class act on and off the gridiron. He is into prison ministries and enjoys helping out in his community, which is what he says he looks forward to doing now.
He will be succeededby Jim Caldwell, who was his associate head coach and coached with him as well in Tampa Bay. Caldwell`s only other head coaching job was at Wake Forest, where he went 26-63 in 7 seasons for the Demon Deacons. It will be interesting to see if Peyton Manning and company can continue to keep the winning tradition up that Dungy bestowed into this organization.

I don`t think the Colts will be as successful without Dungy. Jim Caldwell didn`t do a good job at Wake Forest as a coach..
