Georgia`s offense to lose two of its stars in Moreno and Stafford
The Georgia Bulldogs are losing star quarterback Matthew Stafford and stud running back Knowshon Moreno to early entry into the NFL draft. Stafford led the SEC in passing and Moreno led the league in rushing as well. "Taking off the pads for the last time was really tough," Stafford said. "That was the toughest part for me, the fact that it came to a head that it was really over, but I know this was the right decision for me." Some draft experts say that Stafford will be the first player selected overall in the draft this April. He set a Georgia school record with 25 touchdown passes this year.
Moreno who is from New Jersey, had over 1,300 yards rushing to go with 16 touchdowns this year. He was the first Georgia player since 1982 Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker to rush for more than 1,000 yards in back to back seasons. He like Stafford, will be one of the first selected at his respectable position. He has over 2,500 career rushing yards and more than 30 total touchdowns. Not bad for just 2 seasons of play.
I think Stafford will do well because he has a rifle-arm and a very quick-snap release. Moreno will also do well and I see him being a very durable back for years to come. I admit, for the two that you must strike while the iron is hot. It is for these two players from Georgia.
