Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford of the Oklahoma Sooners, announced that he will return for his junior season rather than go to the NFL. "After looking at all the information and the opportunities, I feel that it's in the best interest for me to come back," said Bradford.

The sophomore had been projected as a shoe-in 1st-round draft pick and among the first quarterbacks taken in the NFL draft. I guess the chance to return and lead Oklahoma to its first national title since 2000 and lead the Sooners to a 4th straight Big 12 title was too much for him to turn down. "I've dreamed about playing at Oklahoma since I was little," Bradford said. "My three years here have been probably three of the best years of my life. ... I feel there's no need to cut this experience short." This is what Bradford added to reporters at a press conference.

With him coming back along with other key offensive players, Oklahoma will now be a preseason Top 5 team, along with Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators. Bradford led the NCAA with 50 touchdown tosses and in pass efficiency. He ranked 3rd with 4,720 yards passing. His 86 touchdown passes is now a record for a player after 2 college football seasons. He had until Thursday to decide, which was the deadline for entering the draft in April.
