photo credit: TheTruthAbout...The 2008-09 Pro Bowl selections were announced and made some history. Peyton Manning and Eli Manning became the first brothers ever to make the team. This will be Peyton`s ninth selection and the first for little brother Eli. Peyton has battled back from an ugly start to put his team back into playoff contention. Eli coming off of a Super Bowl win, has his team in the mix for a #1 seed in the NFC overall. Both deservingly so are headed to Hawaii.

The Jets sent the most players with seven and there were 4 teams that sent none. The AFC offense will be lead by Peyton Manning as mentioned, along with Brett Favre and Tony Gonzalez. The AFC defense will be lead by Troy Palamalu of Pittsburgh, Mario Williams of Houston, and Dwight Freeney of the Colts.

The NFC offense will be headed by the Vikings star Adrian Peterson, Carolina`s Steve Smith, and the Saints Drew Brees. On the NFC`S defense, the notables are Julius Peppers of Carolina, DeMarcus Ware for Dallas, and Justin Tuck of the Giants. The Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson is this years only rookie to make the team, as he was part of 31 first-time selections this NFL season.
