Heisman winner Sam Bradford selected as A.P. player of the year

Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford continued to add to his season of hardware. Already capturing the Heisman and the Davey O`Brien Award earlier, he was named the A.P. player of the year today. The sophomore beat out Colt McCoy of the Texas Longhorns and Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators for the award. This is the same two quarterbacks that he beat out for the prestigious Heisman Trophy just weeks ago.
I`m positive that Tebow would gladly yield all of the hardware to Bradford for a victory in the BCS Championship, that will take place on January 8th between the two teams. Bradford received 27 votes from the AP media panel that votes in the poll. He was followed by McCoy who had 17 votes. Tebow, who won the award last year as a sophomore, had 16 votes from the A.P. Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree had two votes.
Bradford is the 3rd Sooner player to win the AP award, which began in 1998. He will be the first to tell you that he would rather Oklahoma win the BCS Championship, than to keep reeling in all these trophies and awards. Bradford has passed for over 4,000 yards and 48 touchdowns this season, breaking the school record set by Jason White in 2003. He also leads the NCAA in passing efficiency and has thrown only six interceptions all season long. He is truly deserving of all of the recognition and hardware.
