Final BCS Standings
As this years college football season winds down, we have seen some great moments and even better games. From Texas Tech`s unbelievable upset against Texas, to Texas`s defeat of Oklahoma, this was another great football year. Let`s take a look at the final standings for this years BCS Bowl games.
1) Oklahoma Sooners-12-1. Will play the Florida Gators in the Fed Ex National Championship Game. The winner will be crowned king for the college football season. Will be a great match-up between to high octane offenses.
2) Florida Gators-12-1. The Gators beat then undefeated number one Alabama to put itself in place to play for this chance to be Champs of the 2008-09 football season. Tim Tebow against Sam Bradford has the potential to be the highest rated BCS Championship Game ever watched!
3)Texas Longhorns-11-1. The Longhorns have just one blemish on their record, a loss to Texas Tech. Without Micheal Crabtree making an amazing catch, we would probably be talking about Texas playing for the title game. But the Longhorns are sucking it up and will play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl.
4) Alabama Crimson Tide-12-1. The Tide let Florida roll them out from shore in the last quarter of the SEC Championship game, and cost them a spot in the BCS title game. Alabama will play undefeated Utah in the Sugar Bowl.
5) USC Trojans-11-1. Basically blew their season after losing to Oregon State in the third game of the season. Some still think that they deserve to be in the BCS title game because they have not lost since. They have played well, but you can1t reason with a computer, just ask Texas! The Trojans will play Penn State in the Rose Bowl, which isn`t half bad!
6) Utah Utes 12-0. Utah`s "soft" schedule so to speak, is why they are playing a great bowl game instead of playing for a national title. Still, they are only one of two undefeated teams left in BCS play. They will play in the Sugar Bowl as mentioned against a ticked off Alabama team!
7) Texas Tech Red Raiders-11-1. Will play Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl. This is a very dangerous Rebels team who is the only team that can boast about beating Florida at the swamp! This will be a great match-up to watch with Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree.
8.) Penn State Nittany Lions-11-1. Only blemish on their record is a 1 point loss to Iowa. Otherwise, they may be playing for the national title like a few others. Silly losses are simply costing powerhouses big games in BCS play! The Nittany Lions will play USC in the Rose Bowl.
9) Boise State Broncos-12-0. The other undefeated team in BCS play, the Broncos have had another great season and are showing that they are no one-year wonder in college football. To go 12-0 in any season is a great feat in itself. Look for NFL prospect Ian Johnson to have a big day running the ball! The Broncos will play TCU in the Poinsetta Bowl.
10) Ohio State Buckeyes-10-2. The only BCS team with two losses will play Texas in the Fiesta Bowl. The Longhorns are ticked about being left out if the Fed Ex bowl Title game. I look for them to take it out on the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes are battle tested going up against the likes of USC and Penn State. Will be a great game to watch!
