The Denver Broncos fired their head Coach Mike Shanahan, who has been with the team for 21 years. He has been the head Coach for Denver since 1995, and won back to back Super Bowls in 1997 and in 1998. But in a league of what have you done for me lately, Shanahan got the axe. Denver who had to lose there last 3 games in order to miss the playoffs, did just that. Their collapse allowed the San Diego Chargers to win the AFC West.

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said in a statement that-"After giving this careful consideration, I have concluded that a change in our football operations is in the best interests of the Denver Broncos". He mentioned a little bit more, but trust me enough said. I think Denver fans and the organization just got tired of watching Jake Plummer and now Jay Cutler sling the ball all over the field, and then watch their defense give the points right back. Shanahan needs a fresh start somewhere else and I think he is a great coach for any NFL team to have. A change of scenery will do wonders for people.
