The Dallas Cowboys needed a win against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday to make the playoffs. They left with a 44-6 butt-kicking and a pile of questions. Dallas literally shot themselves in the foot with turnover after turnover. Give credit to the Eagles though, they were prepared like it was already the playoffs. After a devastating loss last week to Washington, they needed help from other teams and got it. They are now headed to the playoffs instead of the Cowboys.

Donavon McNabb threw 2 touchdown passes and ran for another one, and defensive stud Brian Dawkins forced 2 fumbles that were returned for touchdowns. McNabb finished the game 12-21 for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns. McNabb scored on a quarterback sneak from the one-yard line to put the Eagles on top 10-3 in the 2nd quarter. Philadelphia scored 17 easy points in the final 2:03 of the first half. McNabb threw a four-yard pass for a score to Correll Buckhalter to make it 17-3 just before the 2-minute warning.

The second half was just as horrible for the Cowboys as the first. After Dallas was successful on a trick play at the beginning of the third quarter, Brian Dawkins sacked Tony Romo on the following play, and Chris Clemons picked up the loose fumble and took off 73 yards for a touchdown that gave the Eagles a 34-3 convincing lead.

This was Dallas`s worst loss since 1988 against the Minnesota Vikings(43-3). It wasn`t just how Dallas lost, it was that they just didn`t look prepared, ready, and coudn`t match the Eagles intensity from the start. Jerry Jones says Wade Phillips job is safe, but I`ve seen crazier things happen with him. With Dallas opening up a new stadium next year, this is not the way they wanted to end things. They were picked by many to not only make the Super Bowl, but to win it.
