Police confiscate bloody pants and guns from Burress home

The bloody pants that the Giants Plaxico Burress wore when he accidentally shot himself last month, were just one of many things confiscated by authorities Tuesday at home. Also seized--one handgun, one rifle and an array of ammunition. To make things worse-- a 9-mm handgun, a .30-06-caliber rifle and the bullets, not to mention a clip for a .45 gun. Cops also said they retrieved the shoes that he wore during the accidental shooting, after the 3-hour search of the Giants star's house.
Investigators are trying to come to a conclusion about whether the guns are registered, so it is unclear whether Burress will face more charges. In case you have been under a rock for the last month or so, Burress accidentally shot himself in the right thigh at a nightclub on November 29 when he lost control of an unlicensed handgun hidden in the waistband of his sweat pants. He checked himself into a New York Hospital and later turned himself in to authorities.
The New York Giants suspended him for the remainder of the season and also withheld one million dollars owed to him as part of his signing bonus. It is unclear whether he will not only be a Giant or an inmate in the off-season. Burress is due back in court March 31 and faces up to 3½ years in prison on each count he is being charged with. Does this sound familiar with today`s athletes? Why, with all of the money that you have, even think of bringing a gun out, let alone unregistered? You know that the police are gonna be watching you with someone of your stature.
