The University of Tennessee is expected to name former Oakland Raider coach, Lane Kiffin as their head coach on Monday at a press conference. Kiffin, the youngest coach in NFL history, was fired just one and a half years into his contract with the Raiders by owner Al Davis. He was making 2 million a year for Oakland, but his salary for the Volunteers will greatly diminish that. That`s not bad for a man who went 5-15 as an NFL coach. He will be replacing Phillip Fulmer who was fired on November 2.

 

Fulmer has brought great recruits, wins and stability in his 17 years at Tennessee. However, he hasn`t been living up to Tennesse "football" standards in the last few years. He will coach his last game on Saturday against Kentucky at Neyland Stadium. Saturday will be known as Phillip Fulmer Appreciation Day, to say thanks to Fulmer for all he has done for the Volunteers. I can understand today`s attitude of "what have you done for me lately" attitude but I think this is a mistake. Fulmer won`t be out of work for long th
