Drew Brees—MVP?
It would be very difficult to say that New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees is not this years MVP. Based on his statistics alone he could make a case. All of the injuries that the Saints have endured this NFL season, Brees has played with what he has and has been magnificent in doing so. Injuries to star players like Reggie Bush, Jeremy Shockey, Duece McAllister just to name a few, is an example of what Brees has had to deal with.
However, look at the numbers this star has put up. 8-300-yard passing games. Two of those games he threw for over 400 yards on the road! He has over 3500 yards passing, with 5 games left to play. Last, he has 6 games of a quarterback rating of 110 or better, which gives him a current rating of 99.9! To go along with those 3500 yards passing, he has 22 passing touchdowns. If the Saints somehow sneak into the playoffs this year, it will be because of Brees`s play at quarterback. That is easily enough for him to win his first MVP award!
